At CHE Academy, we recognize that the development of our athletes extends beyond physical training and athletic performance. Mental health and emotional well-being are essential components of personal growth, resilience, and long-term success.
The athlete journey can bring unique challenges, including adjusting to new environments, managing academic and athletic responsibilities, navigating pressure, and building confidence. Having access to appropriate support is an important part of creating a positive and healthy experience for every athlete.
CHE Academy is committed to fostering an environment where athletes feel supported, valued, and encouraged to seek help when needed. We believe that asking for support is an important step toward maintaining overall wellness and achieving personal goals.
At CHE Academy, we believe that being a great teammate extends beyond the training environment and competition. Supporting one another means recognizing when a teammate may be struggling and having the courage to speak up when something does not feel right.
Athletes spend significant time together and often notice changes that others may not see. A teammate who becomes quieter than usual, withdraws from the group, loses confidence, appears overwhelmed, or is not acting like themselves may be experiencing challenges that they are not ready to share.
If you notice a teammate who may be struggling, a simple conversation can make a meaningful difference. Checking in, listening without judgment, and showing that you care can help someone feel supported and less alone.
You do not need to have all the answers. Being a supportive teammate can be as simple as:
Asking, “Are you okay?” or “Is there anything I can do to support you?”
Taking the time to listen and be present
Encouraging them to connect with a, Social wellness manager, coach, family member, or mental health professional
Sharing concerns with a trusted staff member if you feel someone may need additional support
Speaking up is not about getting someone in trouble or crossing a boundary — it is about caring for the people around you and helping create a safe, respectful, and supportive team environment.
At CHE Academy, we are committed to building a culture where athletes look after one another, where conversations about mental health are welcomed, and where every individual knows they have support.
A strong team is built not only through commitment, discipline, and effort, but also through compassion, trust, and looking out for each other.
